Alexis McGrath, LCSW

Alexis (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who operates clinically from the mindset that everyone is a human first, despite whatever struggles they may be facing. Before obtaining her clinical license, Alexis worked in various medical settings and outpatient substance use treatment. Alexis has spent the last several years in private practice working with individuals with anxiety, depression, eating disorders/disordered eating, trauma, grief, loss, relationship and attachment issues, addiction, self-esteem, and navigating life changes. Alexis is especially passionate about working with young women. She is LGBTQ-allied and affirming.

Alexis’ approach to therapy is holistic, person-centered and strengths-based. She utilizes a psychodynamic approach to therapy and tailors treatment to meet the needs of each individual. Her interventions include EMDR, parts work (ego states & IFS), Polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Alexis brings a unique approach to Wild Oaks, utilizing her EMDR and IFS training to help individuals develop adaptive responses, such as self-worth and acceptance, during their eating disorder recovery journey.

When not at work, Alexis enjoys exploring the city, reading as much as she can, traveling the world, and spending time with both her human and furbaby children.
