Caitlin Dixon

Caitlin Dixon (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Clinical Director of Wild Oaks. She is an integral part of the team responsible for the development and implementation of Wild Oaks’ Eating Disorder IOP.

 

Having over ten years of experience in the mental health field, Caitlin has spent the majority of that time focused on the treatment of eating disorders. Her experience includes programmatic development and implementation as well as supervision, management, and direct client care at partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care. She currently carries a caseload of individual therapy clients in outpatient treatment at Wild Oaks’ parent practice, Richmond Creative Counseling.

In addition to her extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Caitlin always supports the use of a person-centered approach to the therapeutic process. Through her compassion and humor, she works to create a space for clients where they can feel empowered in the therapeutic process.

Caitlin is passionate about treating those with eating disorders and helping them to find their motivation for recovery and heal their relationship with their body and food. She also enjoys advocating for, teaching about, and spreading awareness of eating disorders and disordered eating, and the significant negative impact they can have on patients and their loved ones.

 

Caitlin is a board member of the Richmond Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and is currently working towards her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) distinction, under the supervision of Christine Lamps, LCSW, CEDS.
