A Bit About Whitney
Whitney (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered & Board Certified Art Therapist. Whitney has experience working with adolescents and adults with body image struggles, disordered eating, and eating disorders. Over the past few years, she has worked primarily in a private practice setting, offering outpatient therapy to children and adults focused on a variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, panic disorder, mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, grief/loss, and eating disorders.

Before entering private practice, Whitney spent several years in both direct clinical care and program management with terminally ill children and adults and their loved ones. She has a strong heart for helping hold a sacred space for the bereaved and finds that this experience has significant crossover in the eating disorder treatment community, particularly as it relates to remaining present, supportive, and loving with individuals (and their loved ones) who are struggling with the co-occurring medical and psychological components of eating disorders.
As an Art Therapist, Whitney often utilizes various creative and expressive tools and modalities to assist individuals in accessing thoughts, feelings, and connections they may not always readily access with talk therapy alone. In the Wild Oaks IOP, Whitney facilitates art therapy groups aimed at helping individuals feel less alone, show their authentic selves, experience comfort, and see/experience "self" from a safe distance while working through the treatment process.
